Hi Guys,
I fundamentally understand that health and nutrition is not as simple as saying to someone ‘lets just change everything about what you eat... and the way you eat.. And where you get your food from!!’. There are steps to any health journey - which depends on where you are starting from!
I get that everyone’s life circumstances are unique, and everyone's biology is different. What helps one person can harm another.
I also appreciate the complexity of our modern lives after trying to juggle 20 years working in high intensity financial environments with kids, family, travel and clients. My health took a backseat for too long.
I have had to rely upon convenience in our modern lives! but as I moved through life I started experiencing the impact that the stress and easier food choices had on my body and mind. And for me, not taking care of myself ended in complete burnout.
When I wanted to open the lid on what I was eating and how this might be contributing to how I was feeling, reliable information was hard to find. And then when I found it, it was completely overwhelming or impractical!!
I want to help you with that. Whether you want to make food changes because of your overall health, energy, mood, life changes, family, career, the environment, or because you feel completely uncomfortable in your own skin, I can support you.
My aim is to meet you where you are, and get you to where you want to go, backing you on your food journey with a practical approach, switch by switch.
Then came a turning point.
Emily was told that if she didn’t start looking after her body properly now, she was on a crash course that could only end badly.
This was Emily’s wake-up. She started to research the foods she and her family were consuming, saw the damage they were doing to themselves, and realised that she had to make change - for the sake of her own health, and that of her husband, father, and children.
Slowly she began to shift out of the crazy corporate world, still working hard but now thinking more about her health and the impact it had on her life. It was time to start finally balancing career with health.
Uncovering what is wrong with our food.
Emily undertook formal training in health and nutrition at the University of XXX to learn more about her passion for wellbeing. There was so much conflicting information out there, she knew she had to take charge if she was to make a difference.
But the more Emily learned, the more she found it difficult to live a healthy life free of garbology. So much of Australia’s food appears fresh and organic, but is still conventionally grown, sprayed with pesticides, or worse. And now, Emily was turning 40 - a stressor of its own - and had started to notice those bodily changes we all go through: skin, sleep, weight.
So, Emily started her journey to uncover all the garbology in our food labels and put together the knowledge, research and skills she would need to later found Start Organic Health.
Where is Emily now?
In 20XX, Emily took the plunge. Years of research, hardship and passion combined with her formal nutritionist training to help her build an eight-week programme that would help other Australians get a head start on their health.
This programme became Start Organic Health, and it’s now one of the most complete holistic healthy eating programmes in Australia - helping busy people navigate a world of toxic foods to build healthier eating into their unique lifestyles.
Emily now lives with her two children, Louis and Mya, and husband XXX in Sydney.
